almost

The fact that I'm posting a photo with my misshapen toes is proof of my overwhelming excitement for my first pair of socks- which are nearly finished. This has been my evening project for the last two months- I keep trying on the one that's finished for inspiration to keep working. I don't know about anyone else, but knitting pairs of things is really hard for me. I finish one and can't help but feel like- "Ok, I know what that's going to look like- who wants to finish the other now?". Anyway... I'm feeling quite happy with these and even more happy that I'll be able to actually wear both socks very soon.
Here's the pattern which is just as easy as it's name implies, and the Finullgarn Yarn I used (in colors 4887 sea green and 406 wheat heather).

  2. What cute socks! I'm the same way, I hardly ever finish the second one of anything. Usually it's because the first one looks terrible. :o\

  6. Love the socks! That pattern is the same one I used to knit my first pair and it really is easy. The hard part is casting on for the second sock.

  9. Maybe you should do each sock in different color....it would be fun and lets face it how many people really see your socks. :0)

  11. If your second toe is bigger than your Big toe, it is the sign of egyptian royalty. So sayeth my mom to me. Is it bigger? I can't tell...

  12. I love knitting socks for my little one, now 9 and not so little anymore. I was gifted a fab book, 2-at-a-Time Socks by Melissa Morgan-Oakes. It really has changed the amount of time in completing the socks... and I now knit both sleeves, both legs... any pieces that are duplicated in the pattern... at the same time. it ensures that both are the same size.

  14. While I am impressed by your knitting skills and your beautiful work in general, I have to ask the question that nobody else has...how do you manage to get all this stuff done with a baby at home? I have 2 kids - the youngest is 15 months - and I am *dying* to get back to my projects. I have just returned to work after maternity leave and it is now that much harder to fit everything in. If you were to devote a small blog to giving less organized Mums like myself some tips on how to get it all done, I (and others like me) would be thrilled!
